The Single Empty Nester

The Empty Nest Blueprint for Single ParentsI am thrilled to announce the launch of my new book, The Empty Nest Blueprint for Single Parents. This book is a labor of love born from a deep understanding of single parents' unique challenges and triumphs in navigating the empty nest transition.
About a third of the way through my first book, The Empty Nest Blueprint, I realized I had some strategic choices to make. Do I talk about boomerang children? Do I focus on divorce? Do I need to discuss single parents and couples? All authors have choices to make, and I made the conscious decision to make The Empty Nest Blueprint more couple-focused in the latter third of the book. This aligned with my story and what I wanted to accomplish with this book.
As soon as I made the decision to focus on single parents in my second book, The Empty Nest Blueprint for Single Parents, I knew it was a task that needed my immediate attention. In fact, I began working on book two even before book one was published. I was eager to delve into the vast body of research on single parents, and I actively sought out and listened to their unique stories, expectations, and challenges. I launched a survey, which is still ongoing on my website, to gather insights into the empty nest challenges faced by single parents. I was more determined than ever to ensure this book was written, because I believe single parents need and deserve help.
One of my favorite t-shirts I’ve seen reads, “Being a single parent is my superpower.” I love that it captures the hardships single parents face, yet it’s a positive affirmation of the superhero effort single parents put in for their children. Single parents are an extraordinary group of individuals who often shoulder a disproportionate amount of responsibility, sacrifice, and dedication to do their jobs well. I've dedicated countless hours to researching and writing this book, with the aim of providing these heroes with the tools, support, and guidance they need to thrive in their Empty Nest chapter.
I aim to empower this remarkable population to survive and flourish during and beyond the empty nest stage. On June 18th, The Empty Nest Blueprint for Single Parents will be published and available everywhere books are sold.
